About the Knowledge Auction

The first HighTech Europe Knowledge Auction is a revolutionary new business tool never experienced before. It is a real auction with knowledge as the commodity to be auctioned. It will accelerate the transfer of latest scientific results to marketplace and thus strengthening competitiveness of the European food industry, especially SMEs.

Innovative researchers are invited to offer their exclusive knowledge in the field of food packaging which is the focus of the first auction. All knowledge projects are welcome, including patents, prototypes, ideas, skills etc.

The application for knowledge owners will be organized in a two-stage application. In a first application stage knowledge owners are called to send in only a short summary of their specific knowledge. All applications will be evaluated by an expert panel composed of members from research and industry. The knowledge owners with the most interesting ideas will then be asked to send in more detailed information in a second application stage. The most promising applications will finally be selected by the expert panel on a strictly confidential basis. Abstracts of chosen knowledge will be published and interested parties will be invited to register as a bidder for the specific contributions they are interested in. The item of the auction is the right for first negotiation with the knowledge owner. The auction event will offer various items to address different target groups within the food packaging sector.
